“sun poem”

This poem was originally published on The Pittsburgher’s predecessor, The Dog Door Cultural.

my knee is burning in the sun

the beautiful beautiful sun

in your living room

i ask you

plum?

(it’s not very original

(we all know what a fruit is

(we all know what a fruit really is)

not everything is a metaphor for

slight death

i am, in fact,

writing death

less often

now, since

my knee is burning in the sun

the beautiful beautiful sun

in your living room ▲
