“between your ribs”

This poem was originally published on The Pittsburgher’s predecessor, The Dog Door Cultural.

and in a moment

of weakness i ask

do i still live

somewhere

between

your ribs?

we salted the ground but i

thought deep down

something new could grow like

how distance and longing makes you realise

who you really are.

and i really thought

that if i could meet

your eyes one last time

they would speak of home and i

would be found ▲
